Muraling has become very popular the last few years, along with faux finishes. Fewer people are using wallpaper but rather appreciate art on their walls. Now the walls become the art. My most recent work in muraling has been at The Children's Academy of Mason, Ohio. This hallway, named Learning Lane was completely muraled. Each classroom has become a store or business in a village. At the end of the hallway you'll find the town square with a central fountain. Click Learning Lane to see shots of the individual rooms down the hallway.
My work at The Children's Academy of Mason began 2 years ago when I was commissioned to paint a play village, where the children can actually enter through the doors, play in the shops and also climb and slide out of Slider's Cafe. This miniature village, shown here, is a focal point of the center and provides hours of creative playtime for the kids. Click The Village to see more detailed photos.
I have muraled several elementary and middle schools, including Prince of Peace Catholic School in Plano, TX. There, I painted a large mural in the Children's Learning Center and also a smaller one at their enterance.
My most extensive mural work in an individual home is the Hollywood mural. This mural, in a Plano, Texas media room, covers every wall except the movie screen. Even the ceiling is muraled.
Thanks for following my "progress". Comments are always welcome. Let me know what you think. Write to Karen I look forward to hearing from you. But remember "Never critisize anyone until you have walked a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticise them, you're a mile away...and you have their shoes." Good day.
